Taoiseach of Ireland ( Prime Minister) Enda Kenny , on the day he received his Honorary Doctorate from NUIG., in the company of Dr. Johanna Clancy ( Fahy) and Brian Fahy.
This family-run program is founded and managed by Brian Fahy. Brian had the idea for creating a program like this for quite some time, motivated by strong family and business ties in the United States, deep knowledge and appreciation of the United States – Irish relationship, and a combined 40 years experience in the second and third level education sector.
Brian Fahy
Brian, Assistant Principal at St Enda’s College, Galway, has been teaching English and History for over 30 years. St. Enda’s is a diocesan college under the patronage of the Bishop of Galway and was etsablished in 1928. He has extensive experience in education and has served full terms on both the Board of Management of St Enda’s College and the Board of Management of St Enda’s Primary School, as a teacher representative and as a parent representative. A proven leader in education, sport and business, he brings vast experience and great know-how to the Academy.
Brian is an active volunteer in the community where he has held numerous official positions in his local GAA club, including a term as Chairman. He has also trained, and continues to train, Gaelic football teams and has managed male and female Gaelic football, hurling and camogie teams at all levels, from juvenile up to senior level.
in the 1990’s, Brian, along with his wife Deirdre, founded and managed Dublin Language School in Kildare, and was responsible for 300 students, including activities, accommodation and safety.
CIAA SCHOLASTIC INC
CIAA SCHOLASTIC INC. was formed in January 2019 and is now incorporated in New York State under section 402 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law . The Corporation is formed to operate a summer educational and service program for Irish-American high school students in Galway, Ireland. In addition, an application has been made to the US IRS to secure 501-C-3 designation for the Corporation as a charitable entity engaged in educational and cultural activities. Applications are subject to a rigorous review as the designation is the ‘gold standard for Not-for -Profits in the US. All contributions to 501-C-3 corporation qualify for tax deductions by US Taxpayers.
